Community Bridges
Multiple Designs​
Spring - Fall 2023​
Community Bridges, also known as CB, is a nonprofit organization in Montgomery County that helps empower girls from diverse backgrounds to become exceptional students, positive leaders, and healthy young women. During 2023, I got the opportunity to design and create digital content and assets for them. This is a collection of the different designs I was able to create during my time with them.
GLOW is an annual career summit that gives an amazing opportunity for high school girls in MCPS to explore different career opportunities, participate in interactive workshops, and get professional headshots. A new logo and brand identity was created to help reconnect with the audience and to better align with the purpose and values of the event. The bulb is the heart of the design, a symbol of innovation and bright ideas. The wire inside is not only a source of energy, but a radiant flower, ready to make an impact and spread beauty.
In recognition of Black History Month, a month that celebrates Black culture, their achievements, and impact, we wanted to highlight a few Black owned businesses in our community, historic figures, authors, and podcasts. We highlight podcasts that touch on black and brown moms, gender, mental health, and black artists.
Staff Introductions
To welcome our new staff and reintroduce our current staff, we decided to highlight the entire team on our social media platforms to help our followers become familiarized with the new team. To draw attention and get viewers excited about our staff announcement, I created a three square spread of a white butterfly blasting off. For the posts, I created a design that extends beyond the square ratio. When seen at a birds-eye view, the individual squares create a lovely butterfly scenery.
Butterfly Garden
Butterfly Garden is a podcast that touches on the stories and experiences of current CB girls and CB alumnae. It’s a women-led podcast of girls for girls and women. It's a safe space that empowers young girls to educate, address issues, and make a positive impact in their community and their lives. Note: this is a hypothetical design project.
OTC Showcase
Our True Colors Showcase (OTC) is an end of the year celebration held in the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center stage. The theme was, Pressure Makes Diamonds. It's an amazing experience for our girls to perform songs, dance, and display their artwork. Many CB Elementary school girls drew pictures for the event and we decided to combine their design elements to create the front and back cover of the show program.
Healthy Bridges Program
Healthy Bridges is a summer program for enrolled CB participants entering grades 6-11. The program focuses on health, wellness, arts, and community. The theme is called, Pushing the Limits. The flyer is also written in Spanish for our Spanish speaking families. The girl on the flyer is actually a current CB girl named Righteousness who is sweet, curious, and courageous.
